Leumi’s presence in Uruguay dates back to 1980 when Leumi (Latin America), a Uruguayan corporation fully owned by Bank Leumi Le Israel B’M, was incorporated and approved to operate as a financial institution by the authorities of the Central Bank of Uruguay.
This unit serves as a full commercial bank for the region, and is mainly oriented to the private banking activities for its customers. In addition, the unit is prepared to offer limited corporate and commercial banking services (mainly import-export services and short term lending for working capital needs).
Leumi (Latin America) operates from a principal branch in Montevideo city and a branch in Punta del Este city during the summer season.
